At the river basin, gathering of animals like elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, dik-diks, bushbucks, waterbucks, and reedbucks take place all year round. Besides that, expect to see herds of buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests which are closely followed by predator groups such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs (although very rarely spotted in Tarangire).
